NGC7293 The Helix Nebula


The Helix Nebula is one of the closest of all planetary nebulae and one of the apparently largest planetaries known. At a distance of 450 light years, its apparent size covers an area of 16 arc minutes diameter, more than half of that of the full moon.

This is my first ever made image of Helix nebula obtained on September 02. 2006. I take image with Starlight Express SXVF-M8C CCD camera, Megrez 80/480mm triplet fluorite Apo, autoguided on Losmandy GM8 with Pixcel 237 and 6x10 minutes of exposure.

Image is processed in Maxim DL, SBGNR and Photoshop. Because of big light pollution from Zagreb, I must apply much more noise reduction to acheive better look of the mage...
